Careers

Have you been thinking of changing careers? If so, the thought can seem a little daunting and exciting. Only life experience will tell you if you chose the right career for yourself. If you are unhappy in your career, or find that your goals aren’t the same as they were when you were younger, what is stopping you from taking the leap and changing careers? Once you take that first small step in changing careers, you will wonder what took you so long to make the decision. While it is true that you may have to take time to build your second career, many times the rewards will be far greater than you ever thought.

What prompts someone to change careers? Many times someone chases the money wagon and reaches the pinnacle of their career, only to find that their dream wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Money soon takes a back seat to families, hobbies, and peace of mind. Other individuals may have chosen a certain career simply because they did not truly know themselves, yet. Once they have grown and matured they come to know what truly makes them happy and what they would be good at. Individuals who retire from one company or corporation may sometimes jump right into a second career. These early retirees aren’t content with cooling their heels relaxing and they go back to school or start their own businesses.

If you dread getting out of the bed each morning and going to your job-- the chances are great that you are not satisfied with what you do for a living. If you are not happy with your career, what is stopping you from considering a change? You only live once.

Planning for your retirement should include a regular or ROTH IRA. Depending on your tax bracket when you retire will determine which type of IRA is best for you. If you feel you will be in the lower tax bracket, then a regular IRA is best, otherwise a ROTH IRA is best for those in the higher tax bracket.
